Empyrean Indian Kitchen is set to host its soft opening at its newest location in Hoboken at 800 Jackson Street. The West Hoboken spot near the 2nd Street Light Rail was previously home to fine dining restaurant BYRD. Signage was first spotted at the location in late October, and the restaurant is already set to open next week. Read on for more information about the new restaurant + opening details.
Empyrean’s Second Hoboken Location
Empyrean Indian Kitchen already has one location in the Mile Square which it has been operating at since 2021. The popular spot serving tandoori, curries, and other Indian specialty dishes is located at 20 Hudson Place near the Hoboken PATH station.

The menus for each location are varied and the downtown location has an extensive cocktail and liquor menu. There is no bar menu for the new location yet but the business does have a liquor license. The 800 Jackson Street location menu has popular items from the current location including tikka tacos and rasmalai with new additions including tofu tikka masala. Both locations have full clay-oven tandoori menus and wide selections of bread, biryanis, and chutneys.
Signage posted in October at the 800 Jackson Street location states that the location will also function as an event and party space. As of November 19th, additional neon “welcome” signs were put up. The owners shared with The Hoboken Girl that the new location will open the week of November 24th with a private friends + family soft opening on Thursday.
