The start of a new year can bring a new chapter for many local businesses around Hudson County, but one Hoboken favorite says it’s not making big changes in 2026. A listing for Mr. Wraps on 741 Garden Street popped up online, so The Hoboken Girl did some digging about how legitimate this posting could be. So… is Mr. Wraps for sale? Read on to learn about the current status of this Hoboken institution.

About Mr. Wraps

Mr. Wraps first opened in Cranford in 2000, and then opened a second location in Hoboken in 2003. According to Yelp, the Cranford location has closed, but the Hoboken location has become something of an institution over the past 20+ years.

The namesake, of course, is wraps, and Mr. Wraps serves up dozens — but there are burgers, sandwiches, salad, and other fried favorites on the menu. Plus, the restaurant serves breakfast, too, and whips up classics like pancakes, French toast, home fries, breakfast sammies, and more.

Mr. Wraps is a local favorite for a delicious and quick meal. The Hoboken Girl has included Mr. Wraps in articles about budget-friendly lunches, gluten-free meal options, and, naturally, Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps.

Local TikTokker Kate Norkeliunus put Mr. Wraps on the nationwide sandwich landscape thanks to her viral mukbang-style videos of herself enjoying the wraps. Kate’s favorite is the buffalo chicken wrap with ranch dressing + hot sauce, no lettuce and no tomatoes (pressed!), which is literally called “Kate’s Fav From TikTok” on the menu.

For Sale?

A post for Mr. Wraps turned up on BuyBizSell.com, an online marketplace for buyers, sellers, and brokers to buy or sell businesses and franchises. The listing says:

“Seize this rare opportunity to own Mr. Wraps All American Bistro, a beloved quick-service restaurant operating successfully in the heart of Hoboken since 2003. This well-established business has built a loyal customer base over two decades, serving as a go-to destination for locals, professionals, and visitors in one of Hudson County’s most desirable neighborhoods. The restaurant specializes in crave-worthy wraps, burgers, salads, homemade soups, and American comfort classics. With consistent annual revenues exceeding $1.5 million, this turnkey operation demonstrates strong financial performance in the competitive American restaurant sector.”

A post listing the business for sale was originally shared by the Rosa Agency in September 2025, listing the business for $425,000. The current listing on BuyBizSell has the business for sale at $350,000.  Both listings describe the sale as for ” [a] Turnkey business, all equipment, branding, and recipes included.”

The Hoboken Girl reached out to Mr. Wraps directly and asked if the location was for sale or if they had plans to sell. Even though the restaurant is listed online, staff members at Mr. Wraps told HG, “No, it is not for sale.” See the DM exchange below.

However, on January 6th, The Hoboken Girl reached out to an agent affiliated with the Rosa Agency’s September 2025 listing, who confirmed the sale. Then, we called Mr. Wraps directly, and a manager told us that they didn’t know what we were talking about. So, if you’re keeping track, the manager said no, the realtor said yes to the sale of the business.  The Hoboken Girl will update this piece as more information becomes available.

Crumbl Cookies, a cookie bakery chain with locations in New Jersey, has recently announced that its Jersey City location has permanently closed. Located at 318 Grove Street, the location has shut down as of Saturday, January 3rd. Keep reading to learn about Crumbl’s closure in Jersey City + what it means for the chain.

Crumbl Cookies in Jersey City Closed + What it Means

Crumbl Cookies is a nationally-known gourmet cookie brand that has over 1000 locations in the United States and North America. Aside from its US locations, there are also two Crumbl outposts in Puerto Rico. It is best known for its freshly-baked cookies, with flavors rotating weekly. The store has a lineup of six different cookies each week — options include tres leches cake, chocolate peanut butter pie, key lime pie cookie, semi-sweet chocolate chunk, chocolate cake batter, wafer featuring Kit Kat®, iced oatmeal, and cookie dough bites. The weekly specials have become a social media favorite, with discussion forums, fan sites, and reviews about the new and upcoming flavors. It has also been known for its numerous celebrity collabs and viral TikToks, so this news in Jersey City comes as somewhat of a surprise.

The Jersey City location at 318 Grove Street was widely anticipated: HG first reported on its opening in July 2024. It opened in February 2025. This marks less than a year of operation for the location, which opened in February of 2025.

As of January 3rd, 2026, the Grove Street location is now shuttered. Details on why the location closed are not available, but it aligns with a nationwide trend of Crumbl locations shutting down: locations in 11 states have closed recently. However, there are still several Crumbl locations for fans in the North Jersey and Jersey Shore areas, including Union, Clark, North Brunswick, and Holmdel. It’s worth noting this comes the same month as national, VC-backed chain Sprinkles Cupcakes announced its permanent closure of all stores.

There is no information on plans for the now-vacant space, but we will update this article as we receive more information.

Longtime fitness studio Local Barre has confirmed it will be relocating from its West Hoboken location in the Monroe Center to downtown. The barre-fitness studio and multi-purpose space located within the Monroe Center at 720 Monroe Street, Suite C300 has been operating there for the past few years exclusively. The studio’s owner shared directly with The Hoboken Girl team that it will be relocating downtown to 104 Hudson Street, which is currently occupied by another barre studio, Physique 57 — which LB is taking over.  Read on to learn more about Local Barre, Physique 57, and the upcoming Hoboken move.

The Relocation

Local Barre owners have confirmed with HG that the business as it currently stands will be leaving its location within the Monroe Center and moving into the Physique 57 space. Several readers reached out with information regarding the closure, noting Physique 57 had broken the news to them via their own channels.

The Hoboken Girl team reached out to Local Barre’s owners, Jen and Joe DeMarco, who shared, “This all happened very fast, during the holidays!”  The Local Barre team anticipates a February 1st, 2026 opening.

About Physique 57

Physique 57 opened in  bringing another barre studio to the Mile Square in January of 2023. The Physique 57 brand was founded by Tanya Becker and Jennifer Maanavi in 2005. Being the first barre-based fitness class to pop up in NYC, the team ran with the idea and jump-started a global business. Over the years, the duo has opened numerous studios all over the world, from Dubai to the newly opened location in Hoboken. Sadly, the Hoboken location is closing its doors and being acquired by Local Barre’s owners.

“In terms of instructor quality, class intensity, music, and results, I found the Physique 57 method to be the most effective and fun, ” Lily shared with The Hoboken Girl when the new studio opened at the time. “When the company started franchising, I saw the perfect opportunity to bring this wonderful workout to Hoboken, where I hope many others will share my passion.”

Physique 57 has closed several physical studio locations throughout the country over the last few years, particularly after pivoting during the pandemic to focus more on online content, with specific locations like Carmel, Indiana, and Philadelphia closing in early 2024 and early 2025 respectively, though they still offer extensive on-demand and online classes through their website. As a member, you can still access their workouts through their website. The Hoboken location will have its last classes on January 18th, 2026.

Local Barre’s Legacy

Local Barre first moved to Hoboken in 2010 with its initial location at 1180 Maxwell Place, which later closed during the pandemic, and its West Hoboken location became its flagship at the Monroe Center. A few years back, it launched its co-working space, complete with mini barre and childcare options. Owner Jen DeMarco shared that the downtown location would no longer have mini barre or daycare, but all other aspects of their fitness classes would be in tact, with some fun 2026 twists. It joins a ton of other local fitness businesses downtown, including DRIP,  Prime Cycle, Crunch, Barry’s, YogaRenew, Urban Souls, and more.

Plus, Something New Coming Soon…

The owners of Local Barre said not to fret if you’re a frequenter of their Monroe Center location; something exciting (and different) is likely coming to the OG Monroe Center space. They hinted it would be a unique, warmer (wink wink) addition to the fitness scene when announced. While it is not public yet what is next for the space in the Monroe Center, our team will be following closely and will share once we have confirmation!

Winter in Hoboken and Jersey City is cozy despite the city vibes: quiet streets, warm cafés, comfort food, and any excuse to slow things down a bit. But if you find yourself defaulting to scrolling when the temps drop, you’re not alone (we’re doing it too!). That’s why we put together a phone-free winter guide filled with cozy, indoor, creative, and local activities designed to help you unplug and actually experience Hoboken + Jersey City this season. The irony is not lost on us that you’re probably reading this from your phone, but we all have to start somewhere, right?  From pottery classes and paint-and-sip nights to ramen crawls, bookstores, and wellness workshops, this list is all about being present (and staying warm while you do it). Read on for the Hoboken Girl’s Guide to a Phone-Free Winter.

Why Go Phone-Free This Winter?

Winter invites us to slow down, and leaning into that energy can make the season feel grounding instead of gloomy. Choosing phone-free activities helps create space for creativity, connection, and calm (plus, it’s a great excuse to support local businesses). We’re not experts at this, but we’re trying right along with you.

This guide was curated with:

  • Cozy indoor experiences
  • Hands-on crafts & workshops
  • Local food, drink, and culture
  • Activities that feel intentional, not rushed

This guide is for anyone looking for something different to do on a cold winter weekend, planning a phone-free date night, trying to beat seasonal burnout, or craving a slower pace. It’s meant to be saved, printed, or shared, but just something you can actually use (and print, if you’re being really hardcore).

Once you put your phone down (after this last click, of course!), grab a coat, and lean into winter around Hoboken and Jersey City. There’s plenty to do once you stop scrolling!
We’ll see you in the great outdoors (or online, but less frequently when possible – tricky for a team of journalists).

wicked wolf closing hoboken rumor

In September of 2025, there were rumors circulating about Hoboken sports bar Wicked Wolf potentially relocating from its current storefront or closing. After hearing news (straight from the source — its owners) that the Wicked Wolf team extended its lease in the same location who shared that they had “no plans to close,” the long-time sports bar announced its closure at 120 Sinatra Drive after 15 years on the first day of 2026. But, this doesn’t appear to be the end of the road for the restaurant group — as its owner, Sean Sullivan, shared exclusively with The Hoboken Girl that they have plans to open another bar on the waterfront coming soon.

The Details

There had been rumors and rumblings about Wicked Wolf potentially leaving its current location at 120 Sinatra Drive since September 2025. At the time, The Hoboken Girl team reached out to the Wicked Wolf team directly to get the full story, who shared they were going “year to year” with their lease, but had “no plans to close.”

The rumor started when the building’s landlord began showing the space to prospective tenants. This was because Wicked Wolf was nearing the end of its 15-year lease at the space. But owner Sean Sullivan confirmed at the time with The Hoboken Girl that the bar has no intention of moving storefronts. In fact, Wicked Wolf recently renewed its agreement and is now operating on a year-to-year lease for the future, but staying in the space.

We spoke exclusively with Sean on January 1, 2026 who shared, “After the one year lease extension we were not able to come to an agreement with landlords on rent increase so unfortunately have to close the doors.” He continued, “but something special is likely coming soon to the waterfront by our restaurant group.” The new concept would be in a different space on the waterfront.

Wicked Wolf also posted on social media the following, “For 15 unforgettable years, Wicked Wolf has been more than a bar — it’s been a home, a meeting place, and a staple of Hoboken. We’re beyond grateful to every guest who walked through our doors, shared a drink, celebrated milestones, danced on Sundays, and made memories with us. Thank you for choosing us, supporting us, and allowing us to be part of your story. As we close this chapter, we invite you to join us one last time for a Farewell Sunday Funday on January 3rd. Let’s raise a glass together and celebrate everything we’ve shared. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you!”

The bar will host its last Sunday Funday on January 4, 2026.

About Wicked Wolf

Wicked Wolf first arrived in the Mile Square in 2010 — 15 years ago this year — and has been a popular sports bar + restaurant in Hoboken ever since. Popular among residents for its weekday happy hours (and the football crowd on Sundays), the waterfront bar features around 30 TVs, a menu of tavern classics, and a friendly environment for local patrons.

“I have seen our employees become friends with the customers that come in, and just by looking at it, you would think they have been friends forever,” owner Sean Sullivan shared with HG back in 2022. “I believe that goes to show the culture we have over at Wicked Wolf by providing great service and a hospitable environment where our loyal customers become a part of the Wolf family and Wicked Wolf is like their second home.”

In 2022, Wicked Wolf expanded its local takeover with a new concept specializing in brunch and elevated cocktails — The Lola. This waterfront spot, serving American-style brunch and dinner options like small plates and sandwiches, took over the former Melting Pot location at 100 Sinatra Drive.

The Wicked Wolf team has also hinted that they may be expanding their footprint in Hoboken with a third business concept, as Sean also shared that something exciting is coming to a different location soon, as long as all goes to plan. Stay tuned for future details as we’re able to share them.

Dear Hoboken Girl readers and friends,

2025 kicked off with our 13th birthday, and we’ve been constantly reminded of the path we’ve been on and how much more there is to learn.

One constant has been you: our readers, supporters, commenters, neighbors, and friends. It truly feels like we’ve created a little community here on the internet (and IRL in Hoboken + Jersey City), and that’s the whole point. The DMs, the emails, the shares, the reads, the laughs, the stories — it’s all what brings us together at the end of the day. Thank you for the encouragement as we explore what makes where we live so interesting, and as our team of journalists connects you to the most crucial pieces of our neighborhoods, which include the good and the challenging.

Something we’re teeing up for January 2026 is a focus on screen-free activities (because we haven’t met a single person who isn’t trying to cut back!), and to kick that off, we rounded up 25 screen-free things to do in Hudson County (reminds us of our Unplugged #HobokenGirlSocial circa 2019, tbh…).

Analog 2026 is where we’re at — and realizing that we’re writing this FROM the internet feels a little hypocritical and meta, but you get the idea.

But, in the meantime, we’re closing the year with our own TLG highlight reel, sharing some of the things that happened in 2025 that we’re most proud of.

  • Supporting non-profits: We were able to support over 15 local non-profit organizations through our initiatives, including the HG Puppy Bowl, our HG Women’s Networking Event, and the Hoboken Girl Breakfast Sandwich, totaling over $3,000 raised for Wise Animal Rescue and over $10,000 raised for Hudson County CASA + Hoboken Public Education Foundation, as well as donating $10,000 ($1000 each to 10 local non-profits in the New Jersey area) to local non-profits of our readers choosing for Giving Tuesday.
  • Along those lines, we launched The Local Girl Gives! This is something we’ve been doing since 2017 with our Hoboken Girl Helps initiatives, where we volunteer in-person with groups of our readers and organize ways to give back, and this year we were able to donate $10,000 10 NJ non-profits ($1000 each), based on who you shared with us. The non-profits we gave back to included:
    • New Jersey Consortium for Immigrant Children;
    • The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum
    • Guttenberg Arts; the Hudson Pride Center;
    • Waterspirit;
    • Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund
    • Whole Spectrum Autism;
    • FARAH: Foundation for Arab American Heritage;
    • Wise Animal Rescue; and
    • The Forest School at Tenafly Nature Center
  • We launched a new interface of our site, and parent brand, The Local Girl
  • We redesigned our sites and launched our newest sister site, The Fairfax Girl in FFX, Virginia.

We spotlighted dozens of adoptable animals, and of course, countless small businesses and community members who are what make our communities what they are. We also covered the Hoboken election, including polling all the Mayoral and Council candidates on their visions; looked into crime statistics in Hoboken; figured out why there are so many coffee shops in town; and did the deep investigative journalism of organizing all the pizza slices in Hoboken by price.

We’ll still be posting a bit here and there, but our core team will be OOO from December 25th to January 4th.

Our out-of-office messages are up, our DMs will have an auto-reply, and we’ll be a bit off the grid this week. On January 5th, we’ll be back with regular content. You’re welcome to send us tips at any time to hello@hobokengirl.com + @thehobokengirl on Instagram, but they’ll be read upon our return.

See you next year!
