Hoboken Dance Academy Celebrates Grand Opening on Grand Street

Hoboken resident and longtime dancer Sarah Weber Gallo has opened a new dance studio in uptown Hoboken. The Hoboken Dance Academy is located at 1427 Grand Street and has classes for toddlers, children, and adults in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, bachata, and hip-hop. Hoboken Dance Academy’s brand-new facility at 1427 Grand Street has state-of-the-art sprung floors, mirrored walls, and spacious rehearsal areas and common spaces, providing students of all ages with a safe and professional environment to learn, train, and perform.

“Opening this studio is a dream realized—not just for our faculty, but for every dancer who walks through our doors,” said Sarah Weber Gallo, Artistic Director. “We’re building more than a dance school. We’re building a community where artistry, collaboration, and confidence take center stage.”

The Station Hoboken

Hoboken Dance Academy provides classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip- hop, composition, improvisation, bachata, fitness, and creative movement for children, teens, and adults. With highly trained instructors and an emphasis on technique, alignment, and self-expression, HDA is dedicated to nurturing dancers of all levels — from beginners discovering the joy of dance, to pre-professional students pursuing advanced training, to emerging artists bridging their college dance experience with the professional world. Fall dance has officially begun, and rolling enrollment for fall 2025 classes is still open, with a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of every dancer.

 

 

The studio celebrated its grand opening with Artistic Director Sarah Weber Gallo, faculty members Derrick Ladson, Ashley Daigle Shope, JJ Burlage, HDA General Contractor Ralph Sessa of Sessa Construction, and community partners Bea Bogorad, Judy Anderson, and Kate Jacobs of Little City Books. Hoboken City Councilpeople Phil Cohen and Emily Jabbour were also in attendance.
