With spring in full swing, there is an abundance of outdoor dining. Even venues that didn’t have a dedicated patio or deck have gotten creative with outdoor space, and we’re here for it. For locals here in Hoboken + Jersey City, we have rounded up a growing list of restaurants with the capacity to comfortably welcome guests for outdoor dining, with all the spits divided into street dining backyard spaces. Read on to learn more about which restaurants are open for outdoor dining in Hoboken and Jersey City — and some photos of what to expect from these al fresco spots throughout the area.

8th Street Tavern | 800 Washington Street
8th Street Tavern serves comfort food, along with a selection of whiskey and other alcohol. Along with huge screens to watch sports games, this bar has small tables set up in the front for guests to sit outside.

The Ainsworth | 316 Sinatra Drive

The Ainsworth has served American fare and cocktails in Hoboken since 2015. In addition to large open windows for a stunning view of the NYC skyline, the restaurant provides a large outdoor patio space with plenty of tables in the front.

This Italian pizzeria and cafe serves up everything from coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches, such as the HG breakfast sandwich that gives back to local non-profits, to pizza, paninis, and gelato. Alessio’s also has tables out front for outdoor dining.

Carpe Diem | 1405 Grand Street
Carpe Diem serves Irish and American fare. In the winter, this spot has a back room with a fireplace, but in the warmer months, locals can look forward to small tables in the front.
