From hot spiked ciders, a mistletoe spritz, peppermint hot cocoa, and candy cane coffee, Hoboken + Jersey City have no shortage of festive bevs this season. Brass Rail | 135 Washington Street
The Brass Rail really enjoys getting into the holiday spirit, with holiday markets and even a brunch with Santa, they know how to ring in joy this season. The holiday menu offers some special cocktails, including white chocolate peppermint eggnog, hot spiked apple cider, and a warm and minty candy cane hot cocoa with peppermint-infused vodka.
Hoboken Biergarten | 1422 Grand Street
Hoboken Biergarten is a great place to bring friends, grab a drink, enjoy the game, and take in the atmosphere. The seasonal menu has sweet + savory picks, including holiday sangria and a peppermint espresso martini.

Backstage is ready for winter with its new cocktail menu. Of course, crowd favorites are still available, but they’ve now added a couple of new ones. This includes a Blood Orange French 75, a Gingerbread Old Fashion, and a Peppermint Mocha Espresso Martini. Some other new drinks include the Oaxaca Café made with mezcal union, coffee infused Campari, and lo-fi sweet vermouth, the You Got The Cinnamon, made with planetary, Ron Zacapa, Santa Ana, lemon, and cinnamon toast crunch milk, the Crye Baby made with Knob Creek rye, hot panela, and lemon, and the T.C.B. which consists of Condesa gin, Ramazotti, blood orange, lemon, and cinnamon.

Dear Maud has a wide range of holiday cocktails on the menu, including hot apple cider, Caramel Cream with Irish whiskey, caramel, and cream, Winter’s Tea, which includes gin, yuzu, cinnamon, lime, and amaro, and Apple Smash, consisting of bourbon, apple brandy, lemon, apple cider, and mint. A crowd favorite is the new Mistletoe Spritz, made with gin, rosemary, cranberry, lime, hibiscus, and sparkling apple cider. Even though it’s a tad cold outside, there is a deliciously juicy frozen Baked Apple Margarita with Reposado tequila, apple, and lime. Dear Maud is also completely decorated for the holiday, truly embracing the holiday spirit.

This downtown taqueria is serving up a special winter menu for the season, and in the drinks department, that includes the “Double Black,” a hazelnutty twist on an Espresso Martini with Mitcher’s Rye, PX Sherry, Kahlua, and cold foam. For those feeling especially festive, this pairs well with the Stuffed Gingerbread Men dessert, a.k.a. Nutella-filled churros shaped like gingerbread men (yum).

The Lola cocktail lab and eatery opened its Santa’s Hideaway in early November. Santa’s Hideaway includes timeless decorations, little scenes for great photo ops, delicious food, and cool cocktails. The Lola is ready for cold weather, winter wonderlands, and of course, cozy holiday cocktails. This year, the Sugar Cookie Martini is a hit, and it’s even topped with rainbow sprinkles.

Sirenetta has created one of the most creative and unique holiday cocktails. Not only is it a show stopper, but it’s on fire, literally. The Fireside Velvet consists of Ketel One vodka, Baileys Churro, gingerbread syrup, cream, and a charred marshmallow on top, flame and all. Another spirited drink on the menu is the Gingerbread Old Fashion served with a cute gingerbread cookie.

Ho Ho Hoboken’s The Waiting Room is ready to celebrate the holidays with its amazing Christmas decor. Coined ‘the most festive holiday bar,’ it’s an experience like no other. The addition of four new seasonal drinks will be sure to keep everyone in the holiday spirit. The White Christmas cocktail includes tequila, triple sec, coconut purée, lime juice, and simple syrup. The Seasonal Spritz consists of Prosecco, Aperol, and cranberry juice. The Sugar Cooking Martini includes vanilla vodka, amaretto, sweet cream, and Bailey’s. Last but not least is the Peppermint Espresso Martini with vodka, Kahlua, espresso, and peppermint purée.

Bwè Kafe | 1002 Washington Street
This winter season, bwe has two new drinks on the menu, the Ginger Caramel Latte and the Fall Spice Latte. The Ginger Caramel Latte is the newest addition and includes housemade syrup with premium ginger root tea. The Fall Spice Latte is a holdover from the Autumn menu because it was such a hit. This drink includes housemade syrup with organic pumpkin.

Café Vista is ringing in the winter season with two new seasonal drinks. First up is the classic Sprinkle Peppermint Mocha. A known favorite, Café Vista put its own twist on it with the addition of sprinkles. Next is the sweet and creamy Caramel Apple Butter Latte.
Empire Coffee & Tea Co. | 388 Bloomfield Street
Empire Coffee & Tea Co. is a charming and quaint coffee shop located on Bloomfield Street. This hard-to-miss place transports customers to the likes of a small town. This holiday season, the team is bringing back the ever-popular Cookie Butter Latte. What makes this latte unique is the use of Biscoff cold foam on top.
The Hive | 100 Park Avenue
The team at The Hive always has something fun up its sleeves, and this season is no different. The Candy Cane Cold Brew is made with a white mocha cold brew base, peppermint cold foam, and crushed candy cane pieces on top. The French Toast Chai is made with chai, maple-flavored syrup, choice of milk, and topped with cinnamon. Next is the Dirty Santa. This unique drink is made with espresso, Dr. Pepper, vanilla syrup, and topped with eggnog cold foam. Another drink on the menu is the Frosted Pistachio Matcha, made with matcha, white mocha, pistachio syrup, and a choice of milk. The last seasonal drink on the menu is the classic Peppermint Mocha made with espresso, peppermint, and mocha syrups, and a choice of milk. Most of these drinks can be served hot or iced.
O’Bagel | 600 Washington Street
O’Bagel’s winter menu has finally arrived, and while the seasonal bagels are always a favorite, the specialty drinks take the cake. First up is the Very Berry, which is a cranberry white mocha latte. This can be served hot or iced. Next is the Peppermint Mocha Cold Brew made with vanilla-infused cold brew and topped with white mocha peppermint cold foam. And of course, there’s something for non-coffee drinkers, the Peppermint Hot Chocolate.

Buddy’s in Jersey City is already a mainstay for its over-the-top breakfast and brunch options (ahem, the pancakes), and its “yultide libations” menu is no exception. From the Coco Christmas to the Oatally Awesome and even the Naughty Santa, Buddy’s is serving up a roster of seasonal sips for elves of every flavor palette.

This yearly over-the-top celebration of all things Christmas is not to be missed. It’s worth a visit for the glassware alone. This year, we’re ordering The Krampus, made with reposado tequila, oloroso sherry, allspice dram, mezcal, ginger, hibiscus, lime, hellfire bitters. This pop-up will run from November 7th through January 4th.

The Hamilton Inn’s Camp Cocoa menu is maybe the only thing that can make the Airstream-and-fire-pit setup even more aesthetic. We’re suckers for a pun so naturally our choice is the Caramelt My Heart – Sea salt sprinkle + caramel syrup.
The Roxy | 66 Monitor Street
This Art Deco-inspired restaurant in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood has a whole menu of holiday cocktails for the season. Some highlights include the Boozy Hot Apple Cider (honey crisp and Granny Smith apples, toasted allspice, cinnamon, and clove, calvados, and bourbon) and the Chai Hot Chocolate (toasted coconut whipped cream and choice of bourbon, rum, or tequila).

A newcomer in Jersey City, San Patricios is a Mexican-Irish pub that opened earlier this fall. For the holidays, the bar has transformed into La Posada, a seasonal pop-up bar running through January 7th. There are meny festive beverages on the menu, but our personal favorite was the Sleigh Queen (Ketel One Vodka, Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, Espresso, Banana, Ancho Chili, and Demerara).

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, and this Jersey City restaurant has taken Buddy the Elf’s advice seriously with an Elf-themed holiday pop-up. The experience has all kinds of Easter eggs and nods to the 2003 classic, but the cocktail menu is where it truly shines, with drinks like the Cotton Headed Ninny Muggin’, Baby, It’s Cold Outside, The World’s Best Cup of Coffee, and Son of a Nutcracker.
