About Urban Market
Urban Market’s opening in Hoboken was long-awaited by residents. News was first shared about the company’s plans in 2022, and its doors opened in March 2025 after a lengthy renovation process. The Hoboken space is 14,000 square feet. The location has grocery items, fresh foods, and a selection of prepared foods. There is also a sandwich bar.

The shop’s variety of items and long hours (open from 7AM to 10PM) make it a convenient stop for uptown neighbors. The market is operated by Dumbo Markets, a Brooklyn-based company.
New Location
A source close to the project confirmed to The Hoboken Girl that the Urban Market has leased space in Jersey City. The location at 333 Grand Street is across the street from the Jersey City Medical Center and the Jersey Avenue Light Rail Stop. The space is 10,000+ square feet on the ground floor of the 333 Grand apartment building, part of the Liberty Harbor development. This location is expected to open sometime in 2026.

On January 5th, an HG reader shared the following photo, asking if the signage for Super Fresh meant that Urban Market was no longer taking the space. A source close to the project confirmed that it was the same company operating under a different name.
