The Hoboken Girl Team 
A new grocery store is coming to southwest Hoboken. Originally, sources close to the Urban Market group, the team behind Hoboken Market, located at 1425 Washington Street, shared exclusively with The Hoboken Girl that it will open a grocery store downtown. Per recent updates, the downtown store will be a Dumbo Market, under the same name as the originally Brooklyn-based grocer. The grocery store is set to open in late 2026 on the ground floor of the Southend Lofts, located at 38 Jackson Street. Read on for more about what we know about this incoming spot.
About the Market
A source close to the project previously told The Hoboken Girl that the grocery group Urban Market will take a space on the ground floor of the Southend Lofts, located at 38 Jackson Street, though it will be through a different owner and a different name. It has since been shared that the 38 Jackson Street market will be a Dumbo Market, marking the store’s first New Jersey location. The space was initially shared as occupying 24,000 square feet; representatives for the store have since shared that it will occupy a 12,700 square-foot commercial space on the ground floor of the Southend Lofts. Urban Market stores stem from the first Dumbo Market in Brooklyn, but the stores are under separate ownership.

Urban Market operates The Hoboken Market at 1425 Washington Street, which opened in the spring of 2025. The business announced plans for another location in Jersey City to open in the first half of 2026 at 333 Grand. The location at 333 Grand Street is across the street from the Jersey City Medical Center and the Jersey Avenue Light Rail Stop.
The space is 10,000+ square feet on the ground floor of the 333 Grand apartment building, part of the Liberty Harbor development. This location is expected to open sometime in 2026.
