Every month, a beloved business closes its doors just for a new one to take its place, and while this ebb and flow is nothing new to fast-growing cities like Hoboken and Jersey City, the past four months have seen a surge in new spots. From January to April, over 50 businesses, such as fitness studios, restaurants, vintage shops, and grocery stores, have declared Hoboken and Jersey City home. Read on for a list of newly opened and soon-to-open businesses in Hoboken + Jersey City this spring 2025.
Open in Hoboken
Atelier Sucré | 720 Monroe Street, Unit #C514
New to the Monroe Center in Hoboken is Atelier Sucré, a French kitchen studio providing recreational baking and cooking classes. Along with its most popular course, the Bake Your Own French Croissant class, students can learn to make gluten-free French macarons, French tarts + madeleines, New York-style bagels, and homemade pasta and pizza. The spot opened in the Mile Square in March.

The Biscuit Babe | 918 Willow Avenue

After 17 years of serving the Hoboken community, D’s Soul Full Cafe closed its Willow Avenue location in 2023. Two years later, a new business took its place. After a year of only spotting signage, The Biscuit Babe, serving a menu of biscuits, coffee, and French toast, officially opened on March 15th.
Casa Italia | 600 Park Avenue

Hoboken favorite Alessio’s opened a gourmet Italian specialty market on April 10th. The store sells international specialty meats + cheeses from Italy, Spain, France, + beyond, as well as olive oil, fresh pasta + bread, sweets, snacks, jarred goods, pizza kits will also be available, and all of Alessio’s sauces. This includes vodka, pesto, and marinara.
Ivory Baking Co. | 404 14th Street

Ivory Baking Co. is a custom cakes, cookies, and cupcakes baking company best known for its custom Coach cake made for Megan Thee Stallion in 2022. The business, which opened in Hoboken this past March, has custom orders, a pre-order menu, and ready-to-go treats available during the spring and summer.
Julietta Gelato Cafe | 423 Washington Street
Julietta, a traditional Italian gelato cafe based in NYC, opened its first Garden State locale in Hoboken on Thursday, February 20th, 2025. The spot serves a menu of classic gelato flavors like pistachio and Stracciatella, as well as vegan options, a selection of pastries, and drinks, such as macchiatos, cappuccinos, chai lattes, matcha lattes, and more.
Kinderdance | 104 Hudson Street, Suite 4
The woman- and locally owned Kinderdance is a movement-based class that combines dance, yoga, and gymnastics for kids 15 months to 8 years old. Under the international franchise, the early-childhood enrichment-centered business opened this past April and operates out of the Physique 57 space.
The Little Glow Society | 720 Monroe Street, Suite E420

The Little Glow Society, founded by local New Jersey moms and beauty + wellness experts Kristyn Senzino, Sophia Gillio, Maria Roberts, Tathiana Remick, and Lauren Ben-Meir, the founder of Attain Med Spa, is a kids’ and tweens’ birthday party venue focusing on self-care and wellness. The business opened at Hoboken’s Monroe Center in March and has services like manicures, hair services, and facials for kids ages 4 to 13.
Locals Only | 417 Jackson Street

In early spring, a new vintage shop arrived in the Mile Square. Locals Only relocated from the New Brunswick area to Hoboken and opened its doors on April 5th. Along with all kinds of vintage sneakers, the store sells second-hand goods like Polo jeans, funky jackets, graphic tees, hats, and sports merch.
The Stylist Salon | 105 5th Street

After owning a salon in Englewood for five years, Northern New Jersey hairstylist Jillian Apostolico closed her Englewood locale to open a new spot called The Stylist Salon in Hoboken. Specializing in blonding and hand-tied extensions, the spot kicked things off this past April. While enjoying their hair services, customers can also indulge in unlimited coffee and fresh croissants at this spot.
Strand Salon Studios | 35 15th Street
12 luxury beauty and wellness-centered businesses have opened at the new Strand Salon Studios, a 4,217 square foot salon suite enterprise located on the first floor of the Hudson Tea building. The businesses now occupying the space are BelAir Hair in Suite 019, BINT Facial Spa in Suite 001, Carolina Garcia Aesthetic Spa in Suite 014, Eternal Beauty Salon in Suite 011, The Hair Xtension Studio in Suite 016, Heaven’s Hands for Healing Massage Studio in Suite 015, Le Paris Nail Boutique in Suite 008, Nuestro B Raquel in Suite 017, Pretty Please Aesthetics in Suite 012, Sanctuary Aesthetics in Suite 003, Refined Skin Club in Suite 018, and Trust Barber Shop in Suite 020.
Trackside Joe | 1 Hudson Place
Trackside Joe opened at the Hoboken Terminal in early April. This spot serves coffee beverages like espresso, cortado, and cold brews, signature drinks like its Brown Sugar Latte and Honey Almond Flat White, and gluten-free and vegan light bites. The coffee spot can be found near the entrance to the waiting area.
Urban Market | 1425 Washington Street
In October 2022, HG reported that the Brooklyn-based shop Dumbo Market would open a Hoboken site under the name Hoboken Market, and on March 14th, 2025, the spot finally opened in its 14,000 square feet Washingston Street space. As the first New Jersey location, the shop supplies a wide selection of organic options, such as fresh fish, meat, produce, and premade hot foods.
Wonder Kids Therapy Center | 720 Monroe Street, Suite 510
Wonder Kids Therapy Center, a new sensory gym, recently opened at the Monroe Center in Hoboken. Services at this spot include therapeutic evaluations, a social skills group, and occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapy.

Café con Rumba | 564 Newark Avenue
This past April, the team behind Rumba’s Cafe, Rumba Cubana, and Chango Kitchen opened another Latin eatery in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Café con Rumba provides a menu of Cuban-style sandwiches, salads, tacos, omelets, protein shakes, and daily specials.
Call Me Mia | 363 2nd Street

Call Me Mia, a European-inspired cafe, opened on Saturday, April 19th. Call Me Mia, “an elevated coffee experience where Jersey City meets European charm,” as per the shop’s Instagram post, serves locally sourced coffee drinks like espresso and lattes, as well as baked goods like baguettes, rolls, and croissants. The space also boasts bleacher-style steps and a kids’ area with a play kitchen.
Cheech’s Bagels | 176 Erie Street
On January 15th, aka National Bagel Day, Cheech’s Bagels announced via social media that it would be “coming soon” to Jersey City. The spot opened its doors on May 7th and now serves a menu of bagels, coffee, and breakfast, with the choice of specialty sandwiches, spreads, add-ons, and vegan options.
The Creator’s Loft | 15 Wilkinson Avenue
The Creator’s Loft is a large, versatile space that can be used for content creation and was founded by resident Dileiny Baron, a seasoned content creator and entrepreneur. With its fully styled sets and designed backdrops available for rent, the space can be used as a creative studio rental and an event space. The Hoboken Girl even used The Creator’s Loft for a team photoshoot in early May.
Daily Provisions | 124-134 Bay Street

In March 2025, Daily Provisions opened on the ground level of Jersey City’s Arts + Powerhouse Building, occupying 3,134 square feet of the space. At the NYC-based breakfast and lunch spot, which is now the first New Jersey locale, Hudson County locals can find to-go orders, featuring options like sandwiches, bakery items, soups, salads, coffee, tea, lemonade, and more.
Eggs Up | 270 Johnston Street
The Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City welcomed a new breakfast spot on March 13th, 2025. Serving breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and pastries, the eatery can be found on the ground level of the Atlas residential building on Johnston Street.
Harborside Market | 210 Hudson Street
Owned by Collective Ventures Hospitality Group (CVHG) and led by David Vorcheimer, a partner of the restaurant 1776 in Morristown, Harborside Market is a large space housing three beloved foodie spots under one roof. Nana’s Deli, known for its Jewish comfort food, Nana’s Deli Breakfast + More, collaborating with NYC-based Ess-a-Bagel, and the ice cream spot, Frozen Therapy, in partnership with Torico’s Ice Cream, can all be found in the downstairs of the historic Harborside building.
The Medicine Woman | 660-684 Tonnelle Avenue
Rapper and actor Ice-T teamed up with resident Charis Burrett to open a cannabis dispensary called The Medicine Woman. In July 2022, the concept was approved by the Jersey City cannabis control board, and a year later, it was approved by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission. In late March, The Medicine Woman officially opened to the Jersey City public.
Rumble Boxing | 124-134 Bay Street
Rumble Boxing opened in the Arts + Powerhouse Building in Jersey City in March. The fitness studio is known for its 45-minute boxing class split into ten rounds. A Hoboken location of the boxing gym opened in March 2023.
South of the Clouds | 313 Grove Street
The Manhattan-based Yunnan restaurant opened in downtown Jersey City in late January. South of the Clouds serves rice and noodle-based dishes, like its signature Yunnan Crossing Bridge, a dish with Yunnan-style truffle fried rice, and handmade coconut jelly.
New to Newport Centre
Carter’s/OshKosh B’gosh | 1st Level, Next to Vintage Planet + in the Macy’s Wing

Carter’s/OshKosh B’gosh, clothing brands that sell baby, toddler, and children’s apparel, opened at Newport Centre in mid-March, in the Macy’s wing of the mall, next to Vintage Planet. The Jersey City site marks Carter’s 31st New Jersey location and OshKosh B’gosh’s 20th.
Dick’s House of Sport | 2nd Level, Near H+M
Dick’s House of Sport, an experiential location of Dick’s Sporting Goods, is coming to the Newport Mall in fall 2025. It will be located above the forthcoming Primark store on the second level near H+M and feature amenities like climbing walls, batting cages, and a golf simulator.
Fluffy Fluffy Go! | 3rd Level, Next to Chick-fil-A

Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Cafe, part of the franchise Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes, was first established in Toronto, Canada. The spot expanded to China in 2021 and then made its way to the UK and USA in 2022 under the name Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Cafe. Jersey City locals can now find the franchise marketed as Fluffy Fluffy Go!, serving viral soufflé pancakes, savory “croffles”, burnt-top cheesecakes, coffee + espresso-based drinks, and more, at the Newport Centre Mall.
Juice Eternity | 2nd Level, Across from Häagen-Dazs
Juice Eternity, a New York-based juice, smoothie, and wellness brand, was set to open its first New Jersey location in May on the second level of the mall. Locals can expect an opening within the coming weeks.
Mango | 1st Level, Next to Sketchers + Across from Hollister

Mango, the European sustainable clothing brand, will open across from Hollister on the first level of the mall this June. The company is based in Barcelona and has over 20 United States locations and hundreds of other global sites.
Primark | 1st Level, Near H+M
The Hoboken Girl broke the news in February 2024 that Primark, an Irish clothing brand, would open a Jersey City location. Now, we know that the franchise will open on the first level near H+M, above the forthcoming Dick’s House of Sport, this coming June.

Abercrombie + Fitch | 237 Washington Street

The 5,000-square-foot Washington Street space will soon be home to the clothing and accessory brand Abercrombie + Fitch this summer. In March 2025, signage was spotted for the brand in the former Arthur’s Tavern location, and according to sources, it will take over the majority of the ground floor space.
Aesop | 407 Washington Street

The skincare and lifestyle brand Aseop, now owned by L’Oréal, put up signage on Washington Street between Bluestone Lane and Ben + Jerry’s in April. The space was formerly vacant for quite some time, with JoJo Maman Bébé being its last tenant years back. As per the message on the door, the chain plans to open in Hoboken in June.
Alts | 530 Washington Street

Alts, an NYC-based tailoring company, providing services like bridal alterations, custom clothing, and more, announced that it would make its way across the Hudson in early 2025. The shop was originally slated to open in spring 2025, but, according to an Instagram post, the new opening date is planned sometime this summer.
Apollo Bagels | 324 Washington Street
The NYC-based Apollo Bagels will open its first New Jersey location in the former Jerrell’s Betr Brgr space in Hoboken, which moved to Jersey City back in October 2024. The spot is known for its plain, everything, and sesame bagels, as well as bagel sandwiches, smoked salmon, whitefish, and other spreads.
Barry’s Bootcamp | 119 River Street, Suite A

Back in 2024, the international boutique fitness spot Barry’s Bootcamp announced that it would open a location in Hoboken, marking the franchise’s first New Jersey locale. In late September, the address was finally revealed, and, as of January 2025, signage was put up at the River Street site. The spot has yet to open, but come its Mile Square opening, locals can enjoy high-intensity workouts that combine interval training on the treadmill with weights and other floor exercises.
Haraz Coffee House | 89 Hudson Street

Haraz Coffee House, a franchise specializing in Yemeni coffee drinks made with sun-dried beans, is new to downtown Hoboken. While the opening was planned for April, the spot has yet to welcome customers. Upon opening, locals can enjoy pistachio lattes, matcha, fruity refreshers, frappes, and Yemeni-style pastries like saffron milk cake and the viral Dubai chocolate.
Iron Grace Studio | 1317 Willow Avenue

Courtney Roselle, a Jersey City resident and Hoboken personal trainer, is opening her own personal training studio across from Trader Joe’s on Willow Avenue. The space will have a mini kitchen for trainers to cook, a workplace area, a bathroom with a shower, and a mini-recovery room featuring post-workout treatments like boots, cupping, a stim machine, and massage guns. The space was first planned to open in February 2025, but has yet to open its doors. As per an Instagram post on May 5th, locals were told to “stay tuned.”
Istanbul Doner Kebab | 505 8th Street
The former DC’s space has been vacant for the last few years, with rumors circulating that the property was to be torn down. Now we know that the same team behind Old Lorenzo’s on Jackson Street and Pizzeria Hoboken plans to open a Turkish kebab spot called Istanbul Doner Kebab in late May or early June.
Little Mingo | 305 1st Street

In early April, The Hoboken Girl received a tip from a reader who spotted a pink sign posted on the former Sub Master’s window, indicating that a new coffee, crepe, and waffle bar named Little Mingo (like a flamingo) would take over. The new spot plans to serve coffee and sweet treats. An official opening date has not been announced yet.
Los Tacos | 57 Newark Street
After a fire broke out in the Newark Street building in 2017, which formerly housed residents and the hot dog shop Papaya Dog, the site was demolished, leaving the space vacant. Since then, the locale has been revamped and reconstructed to become a residential space with retail spaces on the street level. On March 26th, a reader spotted a construction permit notice signed by Russell Basile, the owner of beloved Hoboken + Jersey City pizza business, Basile’s Pizza. The permit description said, “taco restaurant as per plan.” According to a source close to the owner of the building, this may become Los Tacos’ new location.
Mile Square Cafe | 746 Park Avenue

Chef Stephen El Hassan, the second-generation chef and owner of the family-owned Hoboken staple, O’Bagel Cafe, revealed plans for a new eatery called the Mile Square Cafe back in March. As per the spot’s Instagram bio, the cafe will be “[a] Chef-driven café specializing in scratch-made sandwiches, toasts, and salads—built on house-baked breads.” Mile Square Cafe will open on Park Avenue in summer 2025.
Mothership | 257 1st Street
Setting up shop in the former Unjumbold, Mothership, aiming to be a “third space” for Hoboken locals, will boast all things retail, pop culture items, and collectibles sometime this year. The space will have comic books, plushies, Japanese imports, Pokémon trading cards, indie art, vintage arcade games, a video game lounge, vinyl listening rooms, and a computer station where customers can game, print, and use various software.
Pop-Up Bagels | TBD

Pop-Up Bagels, which has locations in NYC, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, is known for its fluffy bagels and artisanal cream cheeses. The chain confirmed with The Hoboken Girl in April that it was looking for a new space in Hoboken or Jersey City. A new locale would be Pop-Up Bagels’ first Garden State site.
Skincuress | TBD
The facial spa Skincuress, providing lymphatic drainage treatments, buccal massages, and more, has plans to open to the Mile Square public this May, as per its Instagram bio. While the exact location and opening date are still unknown, it’s confirmed that Skincuress is relocating from Union to a new spot in Hoboken.
Sweetgreen | 218 Washington Street

Sweetgreen, known for its plant-forward and earth-friendly food, opened its first New Jersey store in Jersey City in 2020. Now, five years later, the salad chain has put up signage in the former Drybar space in Hoboken, which was spotted by HG readers in early April. An opening date has not been announced yet.
TZR Studio | 113 14th Street

TZR Studio, founded by Hoboken trainer Chelsea McCloskey, is planning to open in the Mile Square with two other instructors sometime in June. Chelsea previously told HG, “[we] will bring a high-end, educated, and fully comprehensive Pilates experience like this town has never seen before. Our goal is not only to be inclusive but to finally offer a space that you can get the individualized attention you deserve to get the results you’re looking for.”
Whole Foods Daily Market | 101-105 Washington Street
In late 2024, HG shared the news that application materials for a Hoboken Whole Foods Daily Market were submitted to the city’s Planning Board. Then, in March, we confirmed the soon-to-be spot, as further information was provided to the board, which approved the application unanimously. Catered to urban neighborhoods, Whole Foods Daily Market is a smaller store in comparison to its traditional shops, providing produce, meat, seafood, snacks, prepared foods, supplements, specialty items, and Whole Foods store brands like 365. The opening date is TBD.
Coming Soon to Jersey City
Àbákẹ́ Books + Cafe | 2 Webster Avenue
Come June 2025, Àbákẹ́ Books + Cafe will be a space for coffee lovers, creatives, and bookworms alike. Behind the future space is Jacquees Thomas (aka Peace), a Jersey City resident, writer, and creator of “BLK LIT,” a podcast surrounding black literature. This shop plans to feature brews sourced from African regions like Tanzania and Rwanda, serve as a space for special events, workshops, and projects like podcast recordings and film shoots, and be a spot for local small businesses and creators to host classes. An opening date has yet to be announced.
Blank Street Coffee | 101 Hudson Street

In late April, a Hoboken Girl reader spotted signage for the Brooklyn-based coffee chain, Blank Street Coffee, in Jersey City. This franchise has locations in NYC, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, and internationally in England and Scotland. This new site would mark the franchise’s first Garden State locale. A potential opening date has yet to be announced.
Meximodo Cocina Mexicana + Tequila Bar | 25 Christopher Columbus Drive

Meximodo Cocina Mexicana + Tequila Bar, a trendy Mexican eatery and bar, has plans to open in the 8,000-square-foot and 56-story tower, Veris Residential Haus25, this spring. An official opening date has yet to be announced, but Meximodo plans to open its doors sometime in May.

In 2021, The Hoboken Girl broke the news that the NYC-based taco spot ‘Tacombi’ would soon open in Jersey City’s Arts + Powerhouse building. The Mexican restaurant, which is planned to take up 2,700 square feet of the ground floor, has yet to set an opening date. Upon opening, this will be Tacombi’s first Garden State site.
