Earlier this year, The Hoboken Girl reported on the closure of the uptown Hoboken coffee shop City of Saints. At the time, it was unknown what would take over the business’s space at 1320 Bloomfield Street. Now we know that a coffee shop called Koocheh Coffee has taken over the space — and opened up this past week. Read on for what we know about Koocheh Coffee’s arrival in Hoboken, New Jersey.
About Koocheh Coffee
Owner Babak Moghaddam told The Hoboken Girl earlier this spring that the cafe will serve coffee and pastries. “Koocheh means narrow or alley in Farsi,” he said. “We hope to be up and running by the end of May.” The cafe will certainly fill the void left by City of Saints’ departure.

A member of the HG team noticed signage up last week, and we now know that Koocheh Coffee is open in uptown Hoboken. The new coffee spot is open from 6:30AM-5PM Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM on Saturday, and 8AM-3PM on Sunday.

What Was There Before: City of Saints
City of Saints closed operations on February 29th, 2024 after its lease ended. The cozy spot was known for its hand-selected and house-roasted coffee beans, delicious baked goods, and creative coffee drinks like our fave, the vanilla cinnamon latte.
Upon the store’s closure, the team left a note on the door for customers, per Patch Hoboken.
“After 11 wonderful years serving our beloved community in Hoboken, we’ve made the difficult decision not to renew our lease and today, 2/29/2024 is our last day. While we bid farewell to our cozy retail space, our passion for crafting exceptional coffee remains unwavering.”
Patrons can still visit the roasting facility and cafe at the company’s Brooklyn location.
