Halloween is on a Friday this year, which means no early morning alarms for school or work on November 1st. This gives us all the more reason to celebrate hard, and luckily, the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) is back with a FREE family-friendly event. The Halloween Family Bash returns to Jersey City on Friday, October 31st, from 3PM – 9PM, taking over the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall and Grove Street. The event promises festive fun for all ages with games, live music, local vendors, and a 21+ tent with themed cocktails. Event Details

As one of Jersey City’s favorite fall traditions, The Halloween Family Bash welcomes families (and even pups!) for a night of spooky, free fun open to everyone. Thanks to Stony Hill Farms, the downtown area, Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall, and Grove Street will be decked out in photo-worthy fall décor with like balloon arches and pumpkin displays.

The afternoon includes a lineup of festive entertainment, a bouncy house, corn maze, games, face painting, and, of course, plenty of candy. Ride tickets can be purchased at the HDSID tent on the corner of Grove and Newark Avenue, but note, tickets are cash only.

Adults aren’t left out of the fun, either. Left Bank Burger Bar is hosting a special “Terror Tavern” tent where guests 21+ can enjoy Halloween-themed cocktails and hang out while the kids play.

The event is a convenient way to stay local and partake in traditional Halloween activities. Festivities kick off at 3:00PM – 9:00PM on Friday, October 31st at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
