A new sweet treat option is coming to Washington Street in Hoboken on Friday, October 3rd. Akihi Bubble Tea, a bubble tea chain with five other New Jersey locations, will be opening its doors to Hoboken customers at 219 Washington Street. The business will reward early birds by handing out 200 free drinks to the first to arrive this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Akihi Bubble Tea, a cafe whose motto is “living in the moment,” serves a wide array of drinks, desserts, and savory snacks to its customers in the Garden State. The bubble tea shop already hosts customers at its other locations in East Brunswick, Newark, Metuchen, New Brunswick, and Highland Park. The other locations are also known for their late-night hours, the latest of which is at the New Brunswick location, open until 3AM.

The menu is divided into sections titled “First Time Here,” “I Know This Place,” “I’d Like Something New,” and more to guide newcomers to bubble tea towards popular choices on the massive menu. The beverages come in varieties like cold slushies for hot summer (and early fall) days, and iced milk teas, including options such as a classic Thai Tea or the Salted Cheese Jasmine Tea for more seasoned connoisseurs. Beyond beverages, the savory snacks include Taiwanese Sausage, Tater Tots, Plum Sweet Potato Fries, Takoyaki, and more.
The Hoboken Location Grand Opening
The cafe will be hosting its 219 Washington Street location’s soft opening on Tuesday, September 30th at 219 Washington Street. The grand opening event is on Friday, October 3rd at 11AM. The business will give away 200 free drinks each day throughout the grand opening weekend. Akihi has not yet listed the hours of operation for its Hoboken location on its website.
