Readers and community members are the reason these businesses are so successful so now it’s your chance to vote for your favorites. You can vote once per day in all categories, now through Sunday, December 7th at 11:59PM.  That’s it — we’ll do the tallying from there! The winners will be announced in mid-December once the categories are tallied.

Finalists will win a decal sticker to display on their storefronts and accolades on our website for all to see in the new year.

Renato’s Pizza Masters is a family-friendly restaurant where kids can enjoy pizza as well as chicken fingers, french fries, mozzarella sticks, and garlic bread. On the pizza menu are signature pizzas like Chicken Bruschetta and Buffalo Chicken and also Make Your Own pizza which you can craft to your liking. The restaurant states its “vodka sauce and Grandma pie are all-time favorites.” Renato’s Pizza Masters also has a wide selection of menu items in addition to pizza such as soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, and more.

Located right near Hamilton Park, Rumba Cubana is a great place to enjoy a meal with children. Its kids’ menu has meals like grilled chicken or junior sirloin steak served with white rice and black beans, a Cuban-style burger or a ham and cheese sandwich served with french fries. Its most popular kids meal, however, is the chicken fingers and french fries served in a cardboard Chevrolet Bel Air.

Reservation only, this hidden gem provides a cozy atmosphere and high-quality Italian cuisine. Plus, it’s BYOB, so don’t forget to stop for a few bottles on the way.

Corto | 507 Palisade Avenue

For an outdoor Italian BYOB dining experience, Corto is a top-notch option. The lovely patio makes dining al fresco even more wonderful. Start with the ricotta and honey toast or burrata and enjoy one of the classic pastas or entrees (think fusilli with red pepper pesto or sea scallops) for your main course. And of course, keep your wine glass handy throughout. 

The Franklin | 159 New York Avenue

The Franklin has brunch, lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating options. Try a few of the Italian dishes like the fried calamari, cavatelli alla vodka and cacio e pepe. Although they have a full bar available, Anthony David’s does allow you to bring your own bottle. There’s a $25 corkage fee per 750ml bottle, $30 per liter and $40 per Magnum. Beers are $2 a bottle as well. Start with wine, and then try out one of the craft cocktails like the lychee martini or picante margarita with your main course.

Spicy vodka tortellini, Italian fries and pappardelle bolognese are just a few delicious choices on the menu at Margherita’s. If you choose to bring your own bottle, you’ll have to pay a $6 corkage fee per 750ml, $12 corkage fee per Magnum and $1 corkage fee per bottle of beer.

Another pumpkin option is the Pumpking Imperial Ale. This drink is served with a caramel cinnamon rim and the option to add on a vanilla vodka shot.  Since this is *the* spot for espresso martinis, patrons here don’t have to deviate from their usual orders to enjoy a little fall flavor. The fall flavors include Pumpkin Spice Martini, Spiced Chai, and the Affogato Martini topped with sweet cream gelato. The fall cocktail menu includes new creations like the Tiki Tommaso — a mix of rum, banana, allspice, pistachio, and lime — as well as the Spiced Pear-adise, and the Harvest Moon.

Union Hall | 306 Sinatra Drive

Union Hall five seasonal cocktails. The Drunken Pumpkin includes Pumpking Imperial Ale with a shot of vanilla vodka, topped with a caramel cinnamon rim. The CranApple Mule incorporates cranberry vodka, simple syrup, ginger beer, lime juice, and a splash of apple cider for that delicious fall taste. The Italy in Autumn drink features amaretto, tart cherry, vodka, and lemon. It’s Fall Y’all is an apple-inspired drink that includes aperol, prosecco, apple cider and a caramel sugar rim. Lastly, this one is for the pumpkin spiced people, the Pumpkin Pie Martini — a mixture of rumchatta, vanilla vodka, pumpkin spice puree, and a graham cracker rim.

The Waiting Room goes all out for holidays, so naturally the seasonal drinks follow suit. The Maple Old Fashion is for maple and bourbon lovers: it features Five Spring maple, vanilla bourbon, orange bitters, and the option of having it smoked.

Next up is a delicious Blueberry Cold Brew Latte that includes housemade syrup, real blueberries, dark roast cold brew, and your choice of milk. Lastly, the Iced Coconut Water Matcha. This refreshing drink contains matcha powder that’s been whisked to froth over coconut water. You can also specify if you’d like it sweetened or unsweetened.

Cafe Vista | 527 Monroe Street

Cafe Vista provides coffee drinkers with a wonderful take on the well-loved homemade pumpkin-spiced latte. The talented baristas might even include a pumpkin drawing made out of froth right on top. Another fall drink the spot serves is the dessert-in-a-sip Caramel Apple Butter Latte.

Empire Coffee + Tea Co. | 388 Bloomfield Street 

Empire Coffee + Tea Co. have been patiently waiting to debut this year’s Pumpkin Spice Latte, so much so that they actually brought this back in August. This Pumpkin Spice Latte is topped with cold foam and cinnamon.

The theme of this seasonal menu is pumpkin flavors, all the way. Haraz Coffee House has five new seasonal drinks on offer, all pumpkin spiced-inspired and delicious. Try the Pumpkin Spice Shaken Espresso, the Red Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Pumpkin Spice Frappe, the Pumpkin Spice Matcha, and the Hot Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Next up is the Cozy Chai, which includes brown sugar cinnamon syrup, chai, your choice of milk and it can be served hot or cold. The Banana Pancake Latte is up next and is a combination of espresso, creme de banana, maple syrups, cinnamon, and your choice of milk. Following that is the PB&J Matcha. This uniquely flavored matcha contains matcha, strawberry, caramelized peanut butter syrups and your choice of milk. And last but certainly not least, the Pumpkin Brew featuring a vanilla cold brew base topped with pumpkin cold foam and pumpkin spice.

Mojo Coffee Company | 801 Bloomfield Street + 230 Willow Avenue 

Two past favorites have rejoined the seasonal menu at Mojo. The Spiced Brown Sugar Matcha and Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam have returned. HG pro tip: patrons can add pumpkin cold foam to any drink this season, which is a nice way to get a little taste of fall without deviating from your usual order.

On September 22nd, O’Bagel announced a new latte made in collaboration with Hoboken + NYC influence Kellie Bullock. Bullock worked with the brand to formulate the recipe for her signature KB latte, a salted caramel latte topped with apple cinnamon cold foam, a festive option for autumn-lovers with pumpkin spice fatigue. The latte is made fresh and pressed in the bagel restaurant’s signature cans. The KB latte is available at O’Bagel’s Hoboken, Montclair, and New Brunswick locations.

A new sweet treat option is coming to Washington Street in Hoboken on Friday, October 3rd. Akihi Bubble Tea, a bubble tea chain with five other New Jersey locations, will be opening its doors to Hoboken customers at 219 Washington Street. The business will reward early birds by handing out 200 free drinks to the first to arrive this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Akihi Bubble Tea, a cafe whose motto is “living in the moment,” serves a wide array of drinks, desserts, and savory snacks to its customers in the Garden State. The menu is divided into sections titled “First Time Here,” “I Know This Place,” “I’d Like Something New,” and more to guide newcomers to bubble tea towards popular choices on the massive menu. The beverages come in varieties like cold slushies for hot summer (and early fall) days, and iced milk teas, including options such as a classic Thai Tea or the Salted Cheese Jasmine Tea for more seasoned connoisseurs. Beyond beverages, the savory snacks include Taiwanese Sausage, Tater Tots, Plum Sweet Potato Fries, Takoyaki, and more.

The Hoboken Location Grand Opening

The cafe will be hosting its 219 Washington Street location’s soft opening on Tuesday, September 30th at 219 Washington Street. The grand opening event is on Friday, October 3rd at 11AM. The business will give away 200 free drinks each day throughout the grand opening weekend. Akihi has not yet listed the hours of operation for its Hoboken location on its website.
