Open in Hoboken

Abercrombie + Fitch | 235-237 Washington Street

Promising a summer 2025 opening back in March, clothing retailer Abercrombie + Fitch celebrated its grand opening on June 27th. Its Washington Street location is now home to casual clothes for men, women, and children.

Alts | 530 Washington Street

Alts, a NYC-based tailoring company providing services like bridal alterations, custom clothing, and more, announced that it would expand across the Hudson in early 2025. The shop, originally slated to open this past spring, opened in Hoboken in late June.

Aesop, a skincare and lifestyle brand owned by L’Oréal, opened in Hoboken on August 19th. Located between Bluestone Lane and Ben + Jerry’s on Washington Street, customers can find all kinds of personal care items, including soap dispensers, body wash, and more.

The Station Hoboken

Blue Angel Artisan Cafe + Bakery | 79 Hudson Street

Blue Angel, a Korean artisan cafe + bakery based out of Fort Lee, opened on June 10th. The menu features housemade French-Korean goods like cakes and pastries, sandwiches, La Colombe coffee + espresso, and dairy-free and gluten-free options.

The Colonial Grill | 1 Newark Street

Afro-Colombian food truck The Colonial Grill opened its second restaurant on wheels in Hoboken in late June. Serving burgers, loaded fries, cheesesteaks, and gyros, all with a Latin influence, the food truck is operated by the father-son duo William and Kevin Valbuena.

Forum Coffee | 1400 Washington Street

Forum Coffee first arrived in the Mile Square in March with the opening of its first Hudson County location at 123 Washington Street. On July 2nd, the coffee brand expanded its Hoboken footprint with the opening of its second location in the former Juice Press space inside SoulCycle.

Haraz Coffee House | 89 Hudson Street

Global coffee chain Haraz Coffee House opened in the former Nest Seekers International Real Estate space on June 28th. Serving Yemeni-style drinks and pastries, the menu includes everything from pistachio lattes and matcha to saffron milk cake and Dubai chocolate.

Hudsonica | 363 15th Street

Hudsonica Dispensary is a family-owned and operated dispensary located across the street from Hoboken Biergarten. Providing products like flower, pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls, edibles, mixers, vapes, concentrates, topicals, and tinctures, it opened in the Mile Square on June 6th.

Coffee, crepe, and waffle bar Little Mingo opened in the former Sub Master location on August 6th. Little Mingo serves a menu of fresh brews and sweet treats, providing a fun twist on the traditional coffee shop concept.

Mexico Tacos | 57 Newark Street

Mexico Tacos, owned and operated by the team behind Basile’s Pizza, opened in the Mile Square on May 28th. At this taco eatery, diners will find a menu featuring birria, empanadas, quesadillas, and, of course, tacos.

Mile Square Cafe | 746 Park Avenue

Local chef Stephen El Hassan of O’Bagel, a family-run bagel shop born in New Jersey, first announced the details of his newest Hoboken business venture in fall 2024. In June 2025, Mile Square Cafe opened on Park Avenue. The menu includes sandwiches, toasts, salads, and more.

Pickle Joy | 55 1st Street

Pickle Joy, a Mile Square shop dedicated entirely to pickles, opened on 1st Street on Tuesday, August 19th. At this shop, customers can find small-batch pickles and other goodies like pepperoncinis, olives, pickled onions, and more.

Skincuress | 70 Hudson Street 3rd Floor

Skincuress, a Union-based facial spa, relocated to the Mile Square in May. With facial and wellness expert Jill Colon behind the scenes, this wellness spot provides lymphatic drainage treatments, buccal massages, and more.

Sweetgreen | 218 Washington Street

Though not open for another few days, the salad chain Sweetgreen is opening its doors in the former Drybar space on August 26th. This health food spot serves up a variety of salads and bowls, providing fresh, plant-forward, earth-friendly options.

Van Leeuwen | 537 Washington Street

Van Leeuwen, a popular ice cream chain renowned for its fun flavors and vegan options, opened in the former Glosslab space on July 30th. Its menu features creamy options in flavors like Honeycomb, Earl Grey Tea, Sicilian Pistachio, Marionberry Cheesecake, and more.

Woof Gang Bakery + Grooming | 1112 Washington Street

Bergen Hall | 58 Maple Street

Bergen Hall is a casual, modern American dining experience that opened on Maple Street this June. The space houses gtk’s newest Bergen-Lafayette outpost, and serves up items like birria empanadas, French Onion short ribs, vegan fried rice, and gtk’s must-try chicken Caesar wrap. There is also a BBQ brunch on Saturday’s.

BRBQ | 532 Summit Avenue

Owned and operated by the team behind Jersey City’s DOMODOMO and ONDO, BRBQ is a Korean-American restaurant located inside the Journal Square Urby building. The restaurant, serving dishes like Korean BBQ short ribs, spicy pork bulgogi tacos, and butterflied branzino, opened in mid-August.

Cangiano’s Marketplace | 531 Summit Avenue

Jersey City residents now have three Cangiano’s locations to shop from. The Italian deli, market, and sandwich shop, selling cheeses, yogurts, and other perishables, opened in Journal Square at 531 Pavonia Avenue in late July.

Carol Ann’s Table | 333 Palisade Avenue

Carol Ann’s Table is a new BYOB Heights restaurant owned and operated by Chef Andrew Ifill. The eatery, which is named after Chef Andrew’s grandmother, Carol Ann, serves options like beef burgers, short rib ragu, and more.

Cheech’s Bagels | 176 Erie Street

New bagel spot Cheech’s Bagels opened in the Swift + Co. building in Hamilton Park on May 7th. The menu includes authentic breakfast options like TEC, BEC, lox bagels, and more.

The Feathered Fox | 84 Audrey Zapp Drive

Located in the Maritime Parc event venue, The Feathered Fox is a Livingston restaurant that expanded to Jersey City on June 4th. The menu at this modern steakhouse and seafood restaurant includes imported sushi, craft cocktails, charred steak cuts, and more.

Incontro Caffè | 351 Summit Avenue

A new Jersey City cafe opened on Summit Avenue on August 17th. Serving menu options like espresso-based drinks, matcha lattes, pastries, and gelato, Incontro Caffè is a non-tipping establishment. The owners shared with HG that they believe in paying fair wages to all of their employees. Plus, the cafe doesn’t charge extra for alternative milks or syrups.

Maxwell Alley | 12 Coles Street

Mark Censits of CoolVines opened the farm-to-table restaurant Maxwell Alley on June 3rd. Located in the former Gringo’s space, the menu features dishes like pasta, sourdough bread, and steak tartar, as well as coffee creations from Butler Café.

Panaderya Salvaje | 9 Erie Street

Panadería Salvaje is a new Filipino-inspired pastry shop, serving items like ube piaya, matcha chocolate croissants, and savory quiches. At this bakery, patrons will also find espresso drinks and pour-over coffee drinks from Lackawanna Coffee.

Primark | 30 Mall Drive West

On August 14th, the Newport Centre Mall welcomed Irish clothing retailer Primark, which opened on the second level of the mall in the former Sears space. The store sells fashion, home, and beauty items for women, men, and children.

RUN/Café | 1000 Garfield Avenue

Located in Jersey City’s Berry Lane Park, RUN/Café is the Grind Society’s official community space, serving as a fueling station, wellness center, and breakfast eatery. The spot opened in late June.

Yakitame Bento + Katsu | 501 Central Avenue

Yakitame Bento + Katsu is a Korean and Japanese restaurant that opened in early May. This space was previously home to two family-owned Peruvian businesses: El Rinkoncito Peruano, which opened in 2013 and later transitioned to Lomo Truck HQ before closing in March.
