A string of robberies has prompted a Hoboken police statement on Sunday, June 8th. The first incident reported took place on June 6th, and three more incidents occurred throughout the weekend. A total of four police reports have been filed around incidences of robberies occurring on the street at the time of this publication, and now several juveniles have been identified in connection with the incidents.
On Friday/Saturday, several readers tagged The Hoboken Girl team and posted the following stories, indicating they had experienced robbery incidents and had filed police reports. The police confirmed that four in total had been reported.

HG reached out to the police department about this incident, and received a response that they were aware and looking into the events.
“The Hoboken Police Detective Bureau Street Crimes Unit is investigating this incident. Anyone with information should contact [email protected] or call 201-420-2100,” which was shared with us via email.
But on Sunday evening, June 8th, there were two more reported robberies.
The account @hobokenpublicsafety, which is described as social media reporting profile for the Hoboken Public Safety Department is comprised of the city’s Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management and EMS,” posted on Sunday about the robberies.
“The Hoboken Police Department Detective Bureau’s Street Crimes Unit is actively investigating four robberies reported in Hoboken over the weekend. Several juveniles have been identified in connection with these incidents,” it posted.
“Chief Steven Aguiar assures the community that the Hoboken Police Department is taking these matters very seriously and remains fully committed to ensuring the safety of all in the City. Anyone with information related to these incidents should contact Detective Sgt. William Collins at [email protected] or 201-420-2100. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the possible involvement of juveniles, additional details are not available at this time.”
