The Stevens Institute of Technology has announced a program to offer full tuition coverage for students starting in the fall of 2026. The university’s decision stems from its belief that upper-level education should be accessible regardless of affordability. Read on for more information on Stevens’ new program in Hoboken and what it means for incoming alumni.

The Stevens Investment

Stevens is providing full tuition coverage to first-year, full-time students starting with students enrolling in the fall of 2026. According to its official press release from Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, “Pursuing higher education opens doors for students and their families, promoting social mobility and creating new career opportunities. For some families, the cost of tuition can make that path feel out of reach.” Stevens’ philosophy is that education — and the opportunities it generates — should not be gatekept by the economy, and all aspiring youth deserve a chance to achieve their dreams.

Dubbed “The Stevens Investment,” the program is widely accessible and only requires a few parameters. Among these are students who are first-time and first-year students; full-time undergraduates with U.S. citizenship or permanent residency; a family income of $75,000 a year or less; and students who must provide related financial aid documents for approval. Applicants do not need to be New Jersey residents, but the program will not accept non-U.S. citizens, transfer students, graduates, or students not entering their first year. Students of all majors are eligible for the program.

Tuition payments via the program will be covered entirely by non-repayable aid, including grants and scholarships. Stevens has specified that government or alternative university-issued forms of financial aid, including work study and loans, will not count towards this tuition coverage.

Stevens has already been recognized as one of the nation’s top choices for education, ranking 9th for 40-year return on investment among universities, as of April 2025. The newfound impact of The Stevens Investment will only positively fortify this reputation, ensuring incoming students are given the freedom to pursue their careers regardless of external challenges.
