Hoboken is again seeing some flooding in its midst. This time, the cause appears to be allegedly due to private contractor work, in which a water line was struck around 4:30PM today in West Hoboken. The City of Hoboken shared with The Hoboken Girl that the Office of Emergency Management is now on site, and Veolia crews are responding to conduct repairs.

Additionally, according to sources nearby, “It looks like a private property contractor struck a line. They will be isolating the main and assessing the damage.” Police also shared the same information with passersby.

A late-evening Nixle alert on Monday, September 15th updated the boil water advisory information. The message was updated to reflect the boundaries of the advisory.

“Veolia water customers between Sixth and Tenth Streets, from Adams Street to the western Hoboken border (inclusive of both sides of all streets within this area) are under a Boil Water Advisory and should boil their tap water before consumption. The Boil Water Advisory was issued as a precaution after a water main was struck by a contractor at Seventh and Madison Streets, which caused some customers to experience a significant loss of pressure or be without water. ”
