A popular NYC bagel spot is crossing the Hudson to open its first New Jersey location in the Mile Square. The Hoboken Girl confirmed back in May that Apollo Bagels is opening in the former Jerrell’s Betr Brgr space at 324 Washington Street in Hoboken after several months of speculation. As of July, the bagel shop says it will be opening its Hoboken outpost “soon,” and is currently hiring. As of August 29th, signage is up. The Hoboken Location
Rumors were swirling for several months that NYC-based Apollo Bagels was making its New Jersey debut in the Mile Square. HG reached out to the Apollo team back in November 2024, and while a location was still being kept under wraps at the time, the team shared that they would provide more information as it becomes available.

As of May 2025, we now know that Apollo Bagels will open in the former Jerrell’s Betr Brgr space at 324 Washington Street in Hoboken. Permits were spotted in the window in the beginning of May for “interior renovation to existing commercial space as a take out restaurant as per plan.” The Apollo team also confirmed with The Hoboken Girl on Tuesday, May 6th that the permit is for an Apollo Bagels location. Jerrell’s closed its Mile Square store in October and is now located in downtown Jersey City.
Per an Instagram post from Apollo Bagels in July, the bagel shop is currently hiring for the Hoboken location and will be opening “soon,” but an official opening date has yet to be confirmed as of this writing.
