The Hoboken Girl loves sharing stories about small businesses and groups with strong Jersey connections. This one group of restaurants not only has a strong Jersey City connection, but are quite literally connected. Cafe Alyce, One World Pizza, and The Wanderer all share the same building in McGinley Square in Jersey City. The owner tells HG this connection has only benefited each brand. Read on to learn about the three different establishments and how they all connect on this corner in Jersey City, NJ.

Cafe Alyce
Cafe Alyce is the flagship restaurant that opened on 641 Montgomery Street in October 2021. The casual, family-friendly restaurant has been known for a tasty brunch menu, but has since refreshed the dinner menu as well. Some of the favorites on the menu include the breakfast burrito, corned beef hash, the Cafe Alyce Burger, and other dinner dishes like brisket tacos and bulgogi beef bowl.

There are several gluten-free, dairy-free, and other allergen-friendly options available to order. The owner, Tory Aunspach, says the menu is “more approachable in price and big on variety.” Plus, he tells HG, they “added a mix of globally inspired comfort dishes with seasonal ingredients.”
One World Pizza

Just around the corner from Cafe Alyce is One World Pizza. Located on 49 Baldwin Avenue, guests will be able to identify the restaurant from its small sign right outside the door. It’s a small space bursting with different pizza flavors. It opened in January of 2024 and is BYOB. In addition to takeout and delivery pizzas, there are some small tables and a 4-seat chef’s counter. Tory tells HG, “guests sit right at the counter with our pizza chef, trying inventive pies and off-menu specials you can’t get anywhere else.”
Some of the pizzas available to order include elote, Jamaican Jerk, and classic pepperoni. One of the most ordered pizzas is The Bulgogi. This pizza has marinated Korean beef, a kimchi base, and garlic chili, and the crust is finished with garlic confit and fresh parmesan. “It’s pizza, but completely reimagined.”
The Wanderer
The newest addition to this corner in Jersey City is The Wanderer. It opened in April of 2024, also located at 49 Baldwin Avenue. This bar serves coffee by day and cocktails by night. Tory tells HG the bar has rotating themed menus and cultural food and drink spotlights.
For instance, The Wanderer has trivia nights on Tuesdays. The bar has also hosted an Espresso Martini Flight Night and other liquor tastings.
The Connection
Although these are all separate establishments, they’re all connected not just because they’re the same building, but also operated by the same team.
“They’re all in the same historic building in McGinley Square, which makes it easy for us to share resources, talent, and creativity,” Tory shares with HG.
For instance, the large kitchen at Cafe Alyce serves as the prep area for all three brands. Guests at The Wanderer can order pizzas from One World Pizza right next door from 3PM to 10PM. Plus, a lot of the special ingredients and flavors overlap between each brand.
“We treat them like three distinct experiences under one roof, each with its own personality, menu focus, and vibe,” says Tory, “but with a through-line of scratch cooking, cultural inspiration, and community connection.”
